Hi all,
Just a quick update on Brian then some pictures from this mornings fog.
Brian is back in the hospital. He had a PET scan done at the end of October. It revealed some cancer in his lower back, and some hot zones in his pancreas. Brian had an MRI of the lower back on Monday, November 16th. He had been having headaches prior to the MRI. Then on that Monday it seemed to get worse. He started having really bad headaches on the right side of the head, and it was painful to the touch. He wanted to fight them so he just kept taking Excedrin Migraine. This didn't work to well.
Friday morning he decided he'd had enough and we went to the ER. The oncologist (Dr. Thomas) came to the ER after they had done a CT of Brian's head, and said the cancer was on the outside of his skull and this is what was causing the pain in his head. He was admitted to the hospital so they could insert the Port or portocath so that they don't have to keep doing IV's.
Brian will start radiation therapy for his head this coming week, and chemo therapy for the other tumors as well. He is trying to keep his spirits high and hoping to come home soon.
Thank you all for the well wishes, thoughts, and prayers.
Below are some pictures that really sum up the mood for this week. While they are beautiful, they really do give sight to the fog that can come with this diagnosis, and the treatment to follow.
It sure has been a while
